In today’s music game it’s more difficult than ever to really stand out especially coming from a city like Houston which is deep with established and up-and-coming artists. But new-comer PART 2 is forging his own lane and making a name for himself with a unique approach to his music and his business moves.
PART 2 is a new artist from Houston, TX defying the norms of southern rap and hip-hop in general and forging a new and unique sound that cannot be defined by a single genre by creatively fusing elements of hip hop, electro-pop and alternative music genre’s to form one distinct sound of his own. The ambient burst of electric guitars, synths and 808’s are combined with his uptempo vocal delivery that takes command of the energetic cadences.
PART 2 is becoming a fixture in Houston performing all over the area and has already recorded and released an EP on iTunes entitled “Don’t Shoot the Martian”. With his lead single “Build a House” he took it international debuting it exclusively on Europe’s #1 hip-hop website yoraps.com, the song has generated nearly 120,000 plays to date.
He is starting 2012 off with a bang as well. He was featured on the mixtape #SXSW hosted by the world famous DJ Skee and JJ (midday host at 97.9 the Box in Houston, TX) and is in the studio recording his first full-length mixtape with Skee and JJ and with features with Fabolous, Nipsey Hussle, and more. He is also shooting a video for his the single “I Know”, and working on a benefit track for the organization Friends of the Congo with several A-List artists,
Music is what PART 2 was born to do and he sums it up himself perfectly; “I know who I am and what I want to do and I’m not afraid to be myself.” So far so good on all fronts. The journey has just begun so stay tuned for PART 2.
